After this Sundays 1-1 draw between Chelsea and Manchester United the league table could not be any tighter with only 2 points separating the top 3 places, Arsenal sit top after their convincing 3-1 victory over Bolton at the Reebok stadium with goals coming from Eboue, Bendtner and Denilson after Bolton had taken a surprise lead through battering ram Kevin Davies.

Liverpool are 2nd after only drawing nil-nil with Premiership new boys Stoke at Anfield although a disallowed goal which was wrongly ruled out did not help Liverpool and their disgruntled fans.
Man City meanwhile moved up a few places after an emphatic 6-0 victory over an in form Portsmouth side which to be honest nobody saw coming with manager Mark Hughes calling it the best performance by any side he has been manager of in the past.
Aston villa won the Birmingham derby away at West Brom with a 2-1 score line which continued their march up the table placing them now in the top 4 and Sunderland had Michael Chopra to thank after he came off the bench at half time to grab both goals in a 2-0 victory in their North east derby win over Middlesbrough.
Bottom side Tottenham are still looking for their first victory of the season after being held to a goalless draw at home to Wigan with their fans booing them at both half time and full time.
Elsewhere their we’re was win’s for Blackburn 1-0 nil over Fulham, West Ham who overcame the much troubled Newcastle United 3-1 at home in Zola’s first full game in charge, and Hull City who we’re 2-0 up at one stage but could only draw 2-2 with Everton who had Australian Tim Cahill and Leon Osman on target in the 2nd half to take a share of the spoils.
