It is not just Football that has hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons though; there have also been quite a few allegations of Captains fixing games in Cricket with the late South African captain Hanse Kronje openly admitting to throwing certain games after being approached by wealthy middle eastern betting syndicates that offered him huge sums of cash to do the dirty on his team mates.
Tennis has also had its fair share of criticism with many leading players especially on the men’s tour admitting that players have thrown games for cash but as of yet no concrete evidence or names have been mentioned but you get the feeling it is only a matter of time before a big can of worms are opened and all the Sporting world will find out exactly who are the cheats and who are the true sportsmen and women.
